Most costly vehicle mistakes happen before the repair order is signed. A focused advisory session gives you a credible, specific answer to your actual situation — not a generic estimate and a guess.
Advisory is a specific tool. It works best when you have a real decision in front of you and need expert input before you commit. Here are the situations it is built for.
If you are looking for general vehicle ownership education, the Driver's Survival Guide covers repair decisions, shop navigation, and cost control in depth. The newsletter covers one practical topic every two weeks, free. Start there if you do not have a specific decision in front of you.
Select your tier and schedule through Calendly. You will fill out a brief intake form describing your situation, vehicle, and what you need answered.
You will receive a confirmation with any preparation notes. For Deep Research sessions, expect a follow-up request for documents, inspection reports, or other materials before the call.
Live call via video or phone at your scheduled time. For Quick Guidance async, submit your question and documents and receive a written or video response within 48 hours — no scheduling required.
A written summary is emailed to you within 24 hours of your session. It captures the key findings, recommended action, and any follow-on steps. Keep it for reference.
Three tiers scaled to the complexity of your situation. All include a written summary. Fleet members receive separate pricing — see the callout below.
Single-question situations. A shop estimate you want reviewed. A repair you want a second opinion on before approving. A quick go/no-go on a specific decision. You have one clear question and need a clear answer.
Written summary emailed within 24 hours of session. Async option: submit question + documents, receive written or video response within 48 hours.
Book — Live Call → Written Response →Multi-variable decisions. Repair vs. replace when the numbers are close. Buying used with competing options. A major repair where cost, vehicle age, and your situation all factor in. You have more than one question and they are connected.
Written summary emailed within 24 hours of session. Covers the full decision space, not just the surface question.
Book Strategy Session →High-stakes decisions. Pre-purchase due diligence on a specific vehicle. High-mileage evaluation where failure risk matters. Complex multi-vehicle comparisons. You need preparation and research before the call, not just conversation.
Written research brief delivered before the call. Written summary emailed within 24 hours of session.

I built My Everyday Driver because everyday drivers make expensive vehicle decisions with almost no good information. Shop estimates come with upsell pressure. Online forums give conflicting answers. Family and friends offer opinions, not expertise.
Advisory sessions give you something different: a structured, honest look at your specific situation from someone who understands how vehicles fail, how shops operate, and how to make the numbers work for the driver — not against them.
I do not sell parts. I do not own a shop. I have no commission relationship with any service provider. The only thing I am paid for is the session.
"Before buying a truck, I had one question about tow ratings and payload. That question turned into a full review of the spec sheet. The truck I was about to buy would have been underpowered for my actual use case. Avoided that purchase and found the right vehicle. Saved roughly $4,000 on a bad decision I would have lived with for years."
Quick Guidance works if you have one clear question and just need an answer. Strategy Session is the right fit if your situation has multiple variables or you are not sure what the right question even is. Deep Research is for high-stakes decisions where you need preparation before we talk. If you are genuinely unsure, reply to any MED email and describe your situation — I will point you to the right tier.
Yes. Quick Guidance gives you the choice at booking: live 30-minute call or async written exchange. For async, you submit your question and any relevant documents (estimate, inspection report, photos) and receive a written or video response within 48 hours. No scheduling required.
You will receive a confirmation with an intake form asking about your vehicle, the situation, and what you need answered. Fill it out before the session. For Deep Research, expect a follow-up request for supporting documents. Your written summary will arrive within 24 hours of the session.
Your Fleet pricing links are in your membership confirmation email. They are separate links — not promo codes — and they apply your rate automatically at booking. Do not book through the buttons on this page or you will be charged public pricing. If you cannot find your confirmation email, reply to any MED email and we will resend it.
If we get into a session and the scope is clearly larger than the tier covers, we will note it, wrap the current session properly, and you can book the next appropriate tier for the remaining work. Sessions are not extended without agreement on scope and pricing beforehand.
Quick Guidance at $49 makes sense when the decision you are facing is worth more than $49 to get right. A $400 repair you should not approve, a used vehicle purchase, or an estimate that does not add up — any of those justify the session. If you are genuinely on the fence, the Driver's Survival Guide covers repair decision frameworks in depth and may be enough for your situation.
Pick the tier that fits your situation. Every session includes a written summary. Fleet members: use the booking links in your membership email.
Common Questions
You'll get a confirmation email with a short questionnaire about your vehicle and situation. Fill it out before the session so we can use every minute on your actual question — not gathering background info.
Strategy Session and Deep Research clients receive a written summary within 48 hours. Quick Guidance clients can request the async written format instead of a live call — same price, you choose.
Quick Guidance ($49) — You have a specific question: "Is this estimate fair?" or "Should I fix this?"
Strategy Session ($149) — You're facing a bigger decision: repair vs. replace, or planning a purchase.
Deep Research ($349) — You need research before you decide: specific vehicle comparisons, market analysis, or a full cost-of-ownership breakdown.
No. Zero commission relationships. I don't get paid by anyone except you. That's the entire point — you get advice that's actually in your interest.
If the session didn't answer your question, I'll redo it at no charge. If the redo still doesn't work, you get a full refund. I'd rather lose the fee than have someone feel like they didn't get value.
Yes — every session is about your specific situation. Year, make, model, mileage, your driving patterns, your budget. This isn't generic advice. It's a direct answer to your question about your car.
Fleet members use separate booking links included in your membership confirmation email. Savings are 20-35% depending on the tier. If you can't find your links, email MyEverydayDriver@icloud.com.
